Battleground Materials | Building a Verifiable Supplier From a Standing Start

Battleground Materials supplies stabilised sand, select fill and clay to contractors, developers and project managers working industrial and infrastructure jobs along the Houston Ship Channel, moving over a million cubic yards a year. When Centric was engaged, none of that scale appeared anywhere a buyer could check it.

Establishing Credibility Without a Track Record

  • The Challenge
A contractor's decision comes down to two practical questions: can this supplier deliver on schedule, and can the material be trusted. A company with no online history fails both by default regardless of price, because there is nothing to check the claim against. In an industry where a poor supplier can delay an entire job site, that absence was the one real obstacle between Battleground and new business.

A newly formed company cannot out-market established competitors on time or on budget, and this one was building from a name alone toward a deadline fixed to the client's own board meeting. Whatever credibility the brand carried would have to come from somewhere other than history.

The Approach

Borrowing Credibility From Verifiable Ground

Centric built the identity around a single strategic choice, then supported it with production the category rarely invests in.

Heritage-Anchored Brand Positioning
Several established businesses along that stretch of the channel carry Battleground in their names, in reference to the San Jacinto site the land sits on. A contractor already working the corridor recognises that pattern before reading a word of copy. Name, logo and messaging were built around the same verifiable history, giving a brand-new company an immediate place inside a business community the buyer already trusted.

Operational Proof Over Tone
The claim is supported with substance a buyer actually checks. A dedicated safety page details daily equipment inspections, certified operators, mandatory PPE and full OSHA compliance, the operational detail that determines whether a contractor trusts a new supplier with a job site.

Owned Photography Throughout
Every image on the site belongs to the company: drone footage of the actual yard on the Ship Channel, a Link-Belt excavator working real material, and product photography of the sand, fill and clay Battleground sells. Stock photography would have been faster and cheaper, and it would have produced a site indistinguishable from competitors running templates built on generic imagery. The site was built on a ten-section brand standards manual Centric had delivered weeks earlier, which is why a site produced this quickly reads as consistent rather than assembled.

The Outcome

The First Data the Company Has Ever Had

battlegroundmaterials.com went live on 20 November 2025 and has run continuously since as the company's permanent point of contact.

24 Routed Inquiries
Twenty-four contractors, developers and project managers have started the routed inquiry form, each having found a company that previously had no online presence at all, with no advertising behind the launch.

29% of Sessions From Organic Search
Behind those inquiries sit 782 users across roughly 1,200 sessions and more than 2,000 page views, with 75% of users in the United States, the exact market the site was built for. Close to a third of all visitors found Battleground by searching for what it does.

39% Went Straight to About Us
Two in five users checked the company's story and its roots before doing anything else, which is the heritage argument being read rather than merely published. Nineteen percent reached the contact page, and 16% of those went on to start the form.

Every figure here is a first. There is no prior year to measure against because there was no prior presence.

Launching Companies That Buyers Can Verify

For a new entrant in a trust-driven trade, the website is the due diligence. Centric builds these launches around credibility a buyer can check independently, supported by owned production and documented brand standards.

A company with no history still reads as an established operator from its first week in market.
