ADIS 2026 | Two Platforms That Rewarded Opposite Formats

Nobody opens LinkedIn or Meta looking for an infrastructure summit. Paid social had to interrupt a feed carrying no intent at all and convert a senior engineer, government official or consultant, while being held to exactly the same $8.00 cost-per-lead ceiling as paid search, where the intent already existed.

Locating a Buying Audience Inside a Feed

  • The Challenge
Paid social is where B2B event campaigns typically accept a worse cost per lead in exchange for reach. The ADIS programme did not allow that trade.

The two platforms also could not be treated as one channel. LinkedIn's targeting runs on genuine professional data. Meta has no equivalent concept of an infrastructure investment professional, so its precision has to be modelled rather than declared. Assuming a single approach would work across both is among the most common ways paid social budget is wasted at scale.

The Approach

Two Genuinely Different Campaigns Against One KPI

Centric built each platform to its own logic, then let live performance determine which conversion mechanic each one rewarded.

Named-Account Targeting on LinkedIn
Rather than relying on job title and industry filters, account-based marketing lists identified the specific organisations the summit had already prioritised as target accounts. Speaker spotlight carousels and AI-generated video ads served to decision-makers inside those named companies, with job title, seniority and company size filters layered on top so that within a target account the creative still reached only the persona it was built for.

Modelled Audiences on Meta
Lookalike audiences were built from the 2025 attendee list, a proven registrant base rather than a theoretical persona, then narrowed by geography across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Riyadh, Doha and the major secondary GCC cities. Retargeting pools drawn from landing page visitors and LinkedIn ad engagers closed open loops at lower cost.

Parallel Format Testing
Native lead forms and persona-specific landing pages ran simultaneously on both platforms. Server-side conversion tracking recovered the iOS and cookie-blocked conversions that browser-based measurement loses, so budget decisions were made on complete data rather than partial data.

The Outcome

A Fourfold Cost Swing in Opposite Directions

Across both platforms, paid social delivered 12,838 registrations at a blended cost per lead of $8.07 against zero-intent audiences, contributing close to half of Centric's total registrations for the summit.

LinkedIn: 7,468 Registrations at $7.79
29% of everything Centric drove for the entire summit. Lead Gen Forms carried 6,391 of those at $7.41, the strongest-performing format anywhere in the campaign, while Event Promotion added 873 at $5.89, the cheapest unit on either platform.

Meta: 5,370 Registrations at $8.48
Website conversion ads carried 4,806 of those at $7.76, while native lead forms returned only 564 at $14.49.

The Finding Worth Carrying Forward
On LinkedIn the native form beat website conversion ads almost four to one, 6,391 registrations at $7.41 against 204 at $27.98. On Meta the pattern reversed entirely. Same campaign, same weeks, same five audiences, same creative system, with cost moving by roughly a factor of four in opposite directions depending only on format. The common assumption is that the platform-native form is always cheapest. On Meta it was nearly twice as expensive.

Testing Assumptions Before Committing Budget

Platform conventions are worth verifying rather than inheriting. Centric structures paid social so that competing mechanics run against the same KPI in market, which converts a strategic assumption into a measured result inside the first weeks of a flight.

Both playbooks are now documented with cost benchmarks attached and transfer directly to comparable B2B audiences.
