ADIS 2026 | Ten Persona Campaigns Across 1.55 Million Sends

ADIS 2026 carried $57 billion in live infrastructure projects spanning ministerial policy, construction delivery, digital infrastructure and capital markets, inside a global investment need the summit puts at $106 trillion through 2040. No single email could carry that proposition to every audience with any credibility.

Personalisation That Survives Industrial Volume

  • The Challenge
A government official has no reason to read about modular construction techniques, and a construction contractor has no reason to read a briefing on sovereign digital infrastructure policy. Sent as one message, the summit would have sounded like nothing in particular to everyone.

Volume was the opposing pressure. At 1.55 million sends across 21 campaigns and two platforms inside a two-month window, the operational incentive is always to consolidate: fewer segments, fewer variants, fewer approvals. That is how large email programmes become efficient to run and written to nobody in particular.

The Approach

Ten Campaigns Running in Parallel

Centric ran ten fully differentiated persona campaigns and a separate individualised reactivation track at the same time, structured so that scale and specificity did not compete.

Fixed Structure, Variable Argument
Every persona email used the same four-part structure of subject line, preheader, opening argument and session agenda. The format held constant so production could scale without fragmenting; the substance inside it never repeated. Each persona's version was drawn from the part of the agenda actually built for them rather than manufactured to sound personal. Subject lines led with the audience's own stake rather than the event name: consultants on governance, partnerships and pipeline intelligence, finance on $106 trillion of need, smart cities on the AED 13 billion Digital Strategy.

Six-Phase Send Cadence
The campaign ran from a broad opening announcement on 2 April through persona waves, a two-weeks-to-go push, countdown urgency and post-event follow-up, closing 20 May. Frequency rose with proximity to the event, with the final ten days carrying 89% of total send volume.

Individualised Reactivation
The 2025 attendee list was deliberately excluded from the ten cold persona sequences. It received one-to-one Welcome Back emails built around each recipient's own name and the specific session they had attended the previous year, assembled individually rather than templated. Most event programmes omit this because it does not scale easily.

The Outcome

Engagement That Also Protected Attendance

The campaign sent 1,551,643 emails and generated 224,859 opens at a 14.5% blended open rate. The two platforms performed to their designed roles, with the precision platform returning 19.8% on 746,679 sends and the reach platform 9.6% on 804,964.

A 3.8x Engagement Multiplier
Recipients who had already registered opened follow-up emails at 23.7% against 6.3% for those who had not, confirming the campaign functioned as an attendance-protection tool rather than purely as an acquisition channel.

660 Attributed Registrations
Direct attribution through UTM tracking credited email with 660 registrations of the 30,974 recorded in the CRM, with countdown messaging producing the highest volume of any campaign type at 258.

Persona Performance Worth Acting On
Government recorded the strongest open rate at 12.3%, the highest-intent audience in the file. Energy produced the highest click-through in the programme at 3.5% from one of the smallest lists. Construction held the largest list at 43,715 delivered and generated the highest absolute volume of opens despite the weakest rate at 5.3%, which is why rate alone would have led to cutting the wrong list.

Segmentation as an Ongoing Asset

The persona performance data outlives the campaign. It identifies which sectors open, which click, and where list quality rather than creative is the constraint.

Consultants clicked at 0.2%, effectively no engagement, which Centric flagged as a list quality problem rather than a message problem and scheduled for rebuild ahead of the next cycle.
